The Nobel Prize in Physics 2021: Popular Information
Nobel Prize Selection Committee publishes a detailed explanation of the Nobel Prize every year called popular information. This time, I read about the Nobel Prize in physics in 2021 so, I'll introduce some information. This is the link to the documenthttps://www.nobelprize.org/uploads/2021/10/popular-physicsprize2021.pdf
The article raises three greenhouse gases carbon dioxide, methane, water vapor, and the strongest influence for global warming is water vapor, but it is impossible for us to stop emitting water vapor, while we can control carbon dioxide. The amount of water vapor in the atmosphere depends on how temperature there is so, the higher temperature is, the more water vapor is contained in the atmosphere. If more carbon dioxide emits into the atmosphere and makes it warmer, more and more water vapor is contained in the atmosphere and makes it even warmer. This is bad circulation.
Suddenly, some people say that rising temperatures recently have been caused by that solar radiation is stronger, but Manabe denies this opinion by his research. Look at the figure on page 4. If the rising temperature was caused by increased solar radiation, the atmosphere as a whole would be warmer regardless of where you measure. However, the figure says if the levels of how the atmosphere is contained carbon dioxide go up, it is warmer near the ground, but it is cooler in high altitudes. These are the differences between the two assations, today's measurement verifies which assertions are correct.
Interesting! Thanks.
返信削除I was surprised to learn that water vapor is the biggest cause of global warming. I had thought that carbon dioxide was the cause. I also didn't know that the Nobel Prize is writing this kind of article. Thank you very much for the interesting information!
